Dear Shipmates,

NACON recently concluded in Orlando.  It was a wonderful gathering of colleagues to train, collaborate and chart our future course.  We have made great strides in diversity and inclusion within our organization, as evidenced by a 31% increase in units receiving the NACO Three Star Award for Excellence in Diversity.

We are confident that diversity and inclusion will strengthen us as an organizationWe also believe it will improve us in becoming ready, relevant and responsive units that transition and adapt to the 21st century.  As such, it will also assist in our recruiting and retention goals.

There is an Auxiliary Diversity Award that recognizes "the most exemplary performance in the field of diversity".  The award and the submission process are noted on pages 545-546, (11-19 to 11-20) of the Auxiliary Manual.  Additional information can also be located on the "News and Events" section of the Diversity Directorate website, (https://uscgauxnational.blogspot.com/)Nominations will be accepted throughout the month of September and can come at any level within our organization.

We encourage all leaders and members to disseminate this information and evaluate our fellow shipmates' contributions to diversity/inclusion goals and if appropriate, submit an application.

Our goal is to not only recognize those units that receiveNACO Three Star Award for Excellence in Diversity, but deserving individuals as well.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Very Respectfully,

Larry King--NACO

USCG Academy Admissions Auxiliary Partner Communication

Greetings, USCG Auxiliary Academy Admission Partners

Subject - USCG Auxiliary – Reporting Your Partner Activity / Uniform Policy

As We begin another busy recruiting and information season supporting the USCG Academy I would like to refresh the Event and Activity Reporting For USCG Auxiliary Academy Admission Partners and the Auxiliary Admission Partner Uniform Policy

Performing Partner activity requires several areas of reporting. The USCG Academy And The USCG Auxiliary Are Separate And Independent Systems. Remember-- if your activity is not reported you do not receive credit for your efforts, nor does Admissions know at which events you are representing The Academy. Additionally, The Admissions Office regularly reviews Partner Activity and will remove Partners from the Program due to insufficient involvement.

The USCG Academy has instituted an Admissions Partner Award Program to recognize Auxiliarists participation and efforts within The Academy Admissions Partner Program. Partner activity reported to the USCGA Academy and The USCG Auxiliary Systems is reviewed to determine the level of Award, another very positive reason to report your activity.

How To Report Activity For USCG Auxiliary Academy Admissions Partners

USCG Academy Admissions Event Summary Form: Report event activity (College fairs, High School Visits, Congressional Service Academy Days, A Meeting With Prospective Applicants) on this form. This form is located within the Partner Portal (Bear's Den) and may also be Bookmarked on your browser as a favorite. Also, include your prep and travel time in the hours you report. If you are a participating Staff Member during AIM, you do not need to complete this form as Admissions records your activity. If you have conducted an applicant interview, please only complete The Interview Summary Form, Admissions will record your interview participation. The Event Form has a Category of "Other" use this to summarize extra activities such as Emails, Phone Calls etc.

USCG Auxiliary, Reporting Partner Activity On Auxiliary Forms 7030 And 7029

USCG Auxiliary Form 7030 – Mission 09 ACADEMY INTRODUCTION MISSION (AIM) - Activity specifically related to the Recruitment And Support Of Students involved in the Annual AIM Program. This includes time spent on AIM related public appearances, counseling and guiding candidates interested in the AIM Program. All hours spent coordinating logistics for and providing direct on scene (USCG Academy) support at the summer AIM Program needs to be reported. When performing a mission outside your home or office, the proper USCGA Approved Type of Uniform is required. Note: The majority of reporting for this category is for Auxiliarists that Volunteer and Assist USCGA Admissions during The Annual AIM Program. The proper USCGA Academy approved type of attire is required.

USCG Auxiliary Form 7030 - Mission 90-A CG PARTNERS PROGRAM - Hours spent in the recruitment of qualified young women and men into The USCG Academy, exclusive of AIM support (Refer To Code 09). Report all hours performing public appearances in support of The Coast Guard Academy including College Fairs, Service Academy Events, Applicant Interviews, High School Visits, Send-Off Events, and Meetings with prospective Applicants. When performing a mission the proper USCGA Academy Approved type of attire Is required.

USCG Auxiliary Form 7029 - Auxiliary Reporting - Based on your Auxiliary Position, use either Category 99-A or 99-E to report time spent in preparation, travel or event related activity that is not reported on the 7030 Form.
