Branch Chief - DES (Diversity Lant Area East South) Carolina Filgueiras

 
 
Branch Chief - Diversity Lant East - South, Carolina Filgueiras, was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She joined the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary in 2015.  Her passion to help people led her to become a United States Coast Guard Academy Admissions Partner.  This allowed her to help students realize their dream of graduating from the United States Coast Guard Academy. She wanted to make an impact by joining the Auxiliary Diversity and Inclusion Directorate in 2016. She is currently the Branch Chief-Diversity & Inclusion Atlantic South - East, District 7 Staff Officer-Diversity & Inclusion, and Florida's Division 3 Staff Officer-Diversity & Inclusion. While working as an Academy Admissions Partner, she also volunteered in the Coast Guard Recruiting-Hollywood Office. Branch Chief Filgueiras is a qualified Instructor and a member of the Interpreter Corps. She is fully trilingual in English, Spanish, and Italian.
Carolina has received the Auxiliary Commendation Medal, Auxiliary Achievement Medal (2 times), Auxiliary Sustained Service Award (7 Times), Auxiliary Commandant Letter of Commendation, Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendation, Operations Service Ribbon, Examiner Program Ribbon, Instructor Program Ribbon, and Flotilla Meritorious Achievement Award. She currently lives in Miami, Florida with her husband, William, and her three children, Alfredo, Carlos, and Angela.
